Yeah, I could see something like this happening.

I bet this election is going to be a huge shit show, and no matter the outcome bad things are in store for us.

In the scenario you posted, I could see it playing out like this:

- Before the votes are counted, Trump's going to declare victory.
- Mail in ballots are counted over the following few days, swinging things in favor of Biden.
- Trump declares them fraudulent, says something about a coup happening. His cult agrees.

Either way, if he loses - "The election was rigged".
If he wins - well, he wins. Goodnight USA.
Look at what you did, giving him ideas.

 So the convention bounce is apparently null and void this cycle.

Confirms my thinking that there are not very many undecideds to be swayed.

We got Russians
We got cheating repug election officials
We got hacked idiotic computer voting machines
We got hate
We got a radical right

I still see a trump landslide

Trump encourages North Carolina residents to vote twice to test mail-in system

President Donald Trump suggested that people in North Carolina should vote twice in the November election, once by mail and once in person, escalating his attempts to cast confusion and doubt on the validity of the results.

"So let them send it in and let them go vote, and if their system's as good as they say it is, then obviously they won't be able to vote. If it isn't tabulated, they'll be able to vote," Trump said when asked whether he has confidence in the mail-in system in North Carolina, a battleground state.

"If it's as good as they say it is, then obviously they won't be able to vote. If it isn't tabulated, they'll be able to vote. So that's the way it is. And that's what they should do," he said.

It is illegal to vote more than once in an election....
:confusion-scratchheadblue: We're not even a true mail-in state, they're not sending out ballots to all. We've always had absentee without having to cite a reason. So, we're voting the exact same way that the PINO Klan does. Idiot.

Most states have laws against encouraging people to violate election laws. Time to indict.

The states could do it today. Encouraging his idiots to vote twice is clearly election fraud.
Many of these morons tried drinking bleach after his recommendation, they will try to vote twice.

I'm not sure about that. All we have for the feds or states is a DoJ opinion that a sitting POTUS can't be criminally charged, only impeached and convicted, but I think it applies to both the feds and states. It doesn't seem that any state is going to test the issue in court.

As for NC, Dolt .45's suggestion was muddled enough as to whether folks should actually cast that second, in-person ballot that I doubt we'll ever charge him.

It is distressing beyond belief that Americans are stupidly getting led off chasing some red herring and shiny objects time after time. The problem isn't whether Trump may or may not have suggested people vote twice or whether the comment was real, intended humorous, or misconstrued. The problem is that the US has devolved into a banana republic where a president* actively and intentionally creates doubt in the electoral process and thus the foundation of the US government and people just accept it as sorta normal. Consider - no matter whether a president is Republican, Democrat, honest as a fictional Abe or crooked as a mafia boss, there's only one thing to say about the election: "We're working diligently to assure that despite the obstacles we face with covid, etc., that the 2020 election will be conducted accurately and that all eligible votes will be counted..." To say anything else is more than a small symptom of US deep shittiness.

Twitter and Facebook wrestle with Trump telling Americans to vote twice

... Twitter added a "public interest notice" to two tweets related to those comments Thursday, citing its rules around civic and election integrity. The tweets violated the rules "specifically for encouraging people to engage in a behavior that could undermine the integrity of their individual vote," according to Twitter spokesperson Nick Pacilio. Twitter has limited the reach of those tweets and restricted its likes, replies and retweets without comment.

Trump's latest attack on vote-by-mail also crossed a line for Facebook . The company will remove any video of Trump's recent voting comments that are shared without context or those that support the president's statements, though it has yet to identify any so far.

"This video violates our policies prohibiting voter fraud and we will remove it unless it is shared to correct the record," Facebook Policy Communications Director Andy Stone said.

Facebook added its own fact-checking notice to the same statement that Twitter deemed in violation of that platform's rules. Now, a label at the bottom of Trump's Facebook post contradicts the president's suggestion that Americans try to vote twice to make sure "the mail in system worked properly."

The fact-checking label, which reads "Voting by mail has a long history of trustworthiness in the US and the same is predicted this year," is more specific than the generic voting info label the platform attaches to other election-related content....

"While this is a step in the right direction, the fact remains that Facebook refuses to enforce its own Terms of Use where Donald Trump is concerned," VoteAmerica Founder Debra Cleaver said.

"Yesterday, Trump outright urged voters in North Carolina to commit voter fraud. This is part of a larger and dangerous pattern of Trump using social media and other platforms to distribute disinformation, with what appears to be the goal of undermining faith in US elections." ...
Ban him!
In response to Trump's remarks, North Carolina's Board of Elections issued a statement clarifying that voting twice is a Class I felony in the state.

"It is illegal to vote twice in an election," said Karen Brinson Bell, executive director of the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

"... Attempting to vote twice in an election or soliciting someone to do so also is a violation of North Carolina law."

Did Karen Brinson Bell have anything to say about encouraging people to commit this felony?

Our AG Josh Stein also said that double voting is a felony and condemned PINO, but did not say that PINO broke the law in the article I read.
