"The FHP said that Stefancich was found "nearly fully unclothed" when she was arrested"
That could mean she was wearing a bikini. But in any case, does anyone believe she'd still be alive if she had been a Black male?
Florida governor Ron DeSantis has signed into law a restriction on social media companies' ability to ban candidates for state offices and news outlets, and in doing so offered a direct challenge to those companies' perceived free speech rights. The law is almost certain to be challenged in court as both unconstitutional and in direct conflict with federal rules....
As we've seen with mask and vaccine requirements, Florida Repugs detest the Constitution and business freedom.
A woman who was missing for three weeks and then rescued from a Florida storm drain found herself in another underground tunnel system in Texas over the weekend, according to media reports....
In March, Kennedy was pulled out of a storm drain while naked in Florida's Delray Beach after having been missing for three weeks.
She told authorities she became trapped while exploring a tunnel she found while swimming in a canal near her boyfriend’s home. She got lost inside the tunnel system after several turns, she said....
Ummm, they all have multiple access points, usually every block or two.
Probably no different from many other states, but not all of them had documentaries made about what they did:
The Committee (2012)
10:30 PM - 11:00 PM ET ON PBS • TV-PG • Stereo • CC
The Florida Legislative Investigation Committee uses scare tactics to root out communist and homosexual teachers and students from state campuses between 1956 and 1965.
One man's journey to find the "Florida Man" for his alleged "Murders". If you "think" that you've "seen" something like "this" before - then "think"...."again".

A Florida man washed ashore inside a bubble-like vessel on Saturday morning after an apparent attempt to walk on water.
Flagler County deputies responded to calls from concerned citizens who spotted a strange vessel on the beach in the Hammock area, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said. The vessel’s sole occupant was discovered safe inside without any injuries.
He told authorities that he had set off for New York from the St. Augustine area before encountering "complications" that brought him back to shore, the sheriff’s office said.
Flagler County is SOUTH of St. Augustine. That's a pretty big complication.
The seafarer, identified as Reza Baluchi of Central Florida, told FOX35 Orlando he was attempting to run in his floating "bubble" vessel from Florida to Bermuda, or travel north up the coast, to raise money for charity.
Bermuda, like New York, is also north of Florida. Regardless, it's a good idea to know whether one is heading to New York or Bermuda.
... Baluchi has been rescued several times in previous years after setting off inside hydro bubbles, the station reported....
Looks like a good rig to go over Niagra Falls in. I bet that's what he had in mind. Fucking serial water walker. If the Navy saw that, they'd probably sink it.

I wonder how he was planning to get from Florida to Upper New York.

One foot in front of the other which causes the device to rotate as he walks? He will never realize he can make no headway via that plan. Even after washing up more than once in the past, he still has no concept of the fact that in order to achieve forward progress on water, your drive system has to be perpendicular to the surface of the water, not parallel to it. But I'd go out to watch him work if he strapped himself to a paddle wheel steamer. Probably watch him until he was out of sight.
Opps! I am in error in that a marine drive system does NOT have to be perpendicular to the surface of the water. I was initially thinking of how a boat motor is in that position, but the actual drive system, a screw, is actually parallel to the water. Displacement of water is what makes marine shit go.

His contraption might work on a pond or on a lake on a calm day, but no way does it overcome ocean tides, currents and winds. Hence, his trip north went south, literally and figuratively.
The Tampa Police Department is in some more hot water.
* A Citizens Review Board hearing this week, first reported by Fox 13, resulted in the discipline of Sgt. Daniel Rhodes, who was accused of running a "fake operation" to "blow money and have fun" at an Ybor City strip club last year.
Why it matters: The finding comes at an especially turbulent time for TPD, which has been criticized for its increased use of force and chemical agents while nabbing the biggest budget increase among all U.S. metro areas.
* Plus, chief Brian Dugan just announced his retirement.
What happened: Internal Affairs said the investigation in question was intended to find illegal drug operations at The Gold Club and get information on a shooting suspect with ties to one of the club’s dancers.
* But the operational plan did not mention the shooting or the suspect, and officers involved gave conflicting statements on the objective of the investigation.
* The investigation yielded no results, but officers said they spent $421 on the club’s cover charge, drinks for themselves, dancers and friends as well as shots for the bartender, a pack of cigarettes, a charge for the lap dance area and a lap dance for each officer.
The consequences: Rhodes was shifted to a day squad and suspended for one day. No other officers were penalized....
Fwiw, Tampa has a Dem mayor and is the seat of Dem Hillsborough County.

Yeah, I wondered about that.
Surprised our OCD in Chief didn't castigate you for it.
I'm just guessing, but I would think a gator on land would not be quite as dangerous as one in the water. Because, you know, they live mostly in the water, know how to use it to their advantage.
Seems like at one point, though, I been told they will use their tails to fling critters (and people) who get too close into their jaws.
