I wouldn't vote for him. MVP isn't just a matter of stats. If it were, there would be no need to vote. It's an award, an honour, and always includes factors not directly reflected in personal or team stats. Kaaron's assholiness might not have hurt their record, but it shouldn't be rewarded with honours.

 I hope that people with platforms stand up for Hub Arkush and counter Kaaron and Mike Florio. If Kaaron wins, I want it to always have a de facto asterisk. If he loses, the screeches of "Unfair!" will be music to my ears.

It doesn't always have to be a QB.
Tom Brady, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow and Matthew Stafford are also in the running.
I'd prefer RB Jonathan Taylor, WR Cooper Kupp or getting really radical with DE T.J. Watt.
Non QB it's gotta be Taylor, and I'm ok with that.

Kupp, too:

If they were dumb enough to give me a vote, I'd think hard about being nutty with Watt, except that it's hard to choose from a (probably) non-playoff team.

Hard to believe. There's only been one defensive MVP, Lawrence Taylor in 1986 and no non QB since 2006.

You missed 2012 RB Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings. Still, that's :bs: IMO. I would vote against the pattern unless it was completely impossible to deny a QB that year.

Pittsburgh (playing Baltimore), Miami (playing New England) and Baltimore all want to win.
Everyone wants Indianapolis to lose (yeah, right). It controls its own destiny.
An LA Traitors - LV Traitors tie will help Pittsburgh out, depending on tiebreakers. Barring a tie, they both control their own destiny, the winner is in.
Too many tiebreak situations for me to sort out. I'll leave it to the media to tell us who still has a shot and how.

In descending order I prefer:
Baltimore
Pittsburgh
LV Traitors
Miami
Indianapolis
LA Traitors
Lamar Jackson out in Week 18 as Ravens try and sneak into playoffs

The Baltimore Ravens will once again rely on Tyler Huntley with their playoff hopes in danger. Lamar Jackson was ruled out for Week 18's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, coach John Harbaugh announced Friday.

The game will mark Huntley's fourth start of the season. He's thrown three touchdowns against two interceptions in six games. He's also rushed for 222 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Jackson injured his ankle during a Week 14 loss against the Cleveland Browns. He's missed the past three games due to the issue. Huntley and Josh Johnson received starts with Jackson sidelined.
Ut-oh.
Ravens need help to reach playoffs

The Ravens already face long odds if the team hopes to make the playoffs. After a strong start to open the season, the Ravens dropped their last five games.
Choked. :(
The team holds a 3% chance to reach the postseason entering Week 18.

The Ravens must win their Week 18 game against the Steelers to have a shot at the playoffs. In addition to that, the Ravens need the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers to lose in Week 18. Baltimore also needs the Miami Dolphins to lose or tie against the New England Patriots.

The Steelers are in a similar spot. The only way the team can make the playoffs is to beat the Ravens in Week 18. Pittsburgh, like the Ravens, would still need help from other teams to get in.
7-9 Cleveland (playing Cincinnati) has a shot? :headscratch: I guess I want it less than the LV Traitors and more than Miami.

Oh well, there it is, 3%. Could be worse:

Could be even worse:
Jaguars sponsor sues to have name removed from game due to impending clown invasion

The Jacksonville Jaguars' final game of the season is on track to be, well, a clown show. One sponsor would rather not be involved.

RoofClaim.com, a roofing company located in Georgia with business in Florida, has sued to avoid being emphasized as the primary sponsor of Sunday's finale against the Indianapolis Colts, according to Mark Long of the Associated Press.
Ouch, that's bad.
Why would a company go to such measures to not receive the lucrative exposure of an NFL sponsorship it paid for? The answer is things have become so bad in Jacksonville that fans are beginning to revolt against team leadership, with calls for team owner Shad Khan to fire general manager Trent Baalke.

Those fans have landed on clowns as the avatar of their ire. A litany of fans has already changed its social media profile pictures to a clown emoji, featuring Khan's trademark mustache, and now there are apparently plans for scores of fans to show up on Sunday in full clown regalia....
Image

#KhlownOut

Image
The team “utterly failed to provide the sponsorship benefits outlined in the agreement,” the lawsuit alleges, adding that the Jags breached the deal “by exposing RoofClaim.com’s brand to a toxic marketing environment that will cause irreparable harm.”
They ain't wrong.

Despite only 7 teams vying for 3 playoff slots, with that and seeding I care about a surprising number of games this last regular season week.

TV here:

1:00 PM
Go @Detroit 2-13-1 > 3 point favorite Kaaron Bay 13-3. Why not? Meaningless game, though. Kaaron Bay has clinched #1.
3.5 point favorite @Baltimore 8-8 > Pittsburgh 8-7-1, but I don't hate Pittsburgh.

4:25 PM
@Atlanta (ick) 7-9 > 3.5 point favorite New Orleans 8-8. I don't hate New Orleans, but I prefer SF.
Carolina 5-11 > 9 point favorite Tampa Bay 12-4. Protect the Rams' #2 seeding and bye.

Also GO:

5 point favorite @Cleveland 7-9 > Cincinnati 10-6. Maybe help the Bills' seeding.
@Jacksonville 2-14 > 15 point favorite Indianapolis 9-7. Knock it out of the playoffs.
@Houston 4-12 > 10.5 point favorite Tennessee 11-5. Maybe help the Bills' seeding.
16.5 point favorite @Buffalo 10-6 > NY Jets 4-12. Maybe climb from #4 seed?
San Francisco 9-7 > 3.5 point favorite @LA Rams 12-4. Better that San Francisco gets in than the Rams retain the #2 seed and NFC West lead.
@Miami 8-8 > 6 point favorite New England 10-6, 2nd AFC East. Maintain the Bills' AFC East lead.
5.5 point favorite @Arizona 11-5 > Seattle 6-10. If the Rams fall, maybe grab the #2 seed.
@Las Vegas 9-7 > 3 point favorite LA Traitors 9-7 Sun night, good prime time choice. Knock it out of the playoffs.

Whew, Baltimore forces OT with 1:13 remaining.
:wtf: They switched to the largely meaningless Carolina - Tampa Bay game with more than 2" left in OT :angry-cussing: . Pittsburgh kicks a walkoff FG, is in the playoffs unless the 2 Traitors tie. I'm good with that, GO LV!
