When did Canada gain full independence?
Could be that the bieber is actually English.
Canada and UK do share a Queen, however. But I don't think England is going to accept Bieber.

Quebecois were on their periodic rant about secession. Also, Territory of Nunavut was established in the north-west. First designated territory with a majority Inuit population.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 6:58 pm

Re: F**king American music shows up the British Dream Team
From 1966 (Jimi would have turned 80 this week)
https://youtu.be/ADy3iADQhAE
"That three already well-established musicians should form a band was without precedent in British rock history. And, for Clapton, the powerhouse rhythm section of Bruce and Baker was the dream team."
"An outsider jamming with Cream was unheard of, but, on this night, when manager Chas Chandler asked if new American guitarist Jimi Hendrix could sit in for a number, Clapton readily agreed."
Clapton "couldn’t have anticipated what was about to unfold. “He was very, very flash - even in the dressing room. He stood in front of the mirror combing his hair and asked if he could jam. He played Killing Floor, a Howlin’ Wolf number I’d always wanted to play but which I’d never had the complete technique to do.”
"The effect on Clapton was undoubtedly cataclysmic, shattering any preconceptions about blues guitar - and his confidence. Writer Keith Altham was present. “Hendrix blew into Howlin’ Wolf’s Killing Floor at breakneck speed, just like that - stopped you in your tracks.”
"Chas Chandler went backstage to find Clapton puffing nervously on a cigarette. “You never told me he was that fucking good,”'

"Purple Haze" if I have to pick just one.
I may have mentioned sometime in the past that Lady O V.1 was one of the few who saw Hendrix open for The Monkees. She was at one of the last of the 7 appearances.

So much better than my first concert story - Sonny and Cher at the Columbus Auditorium in 64.

My first concert must not have been all that memorable - I can't really remember what it was. But over the years, I've been to a lot of good ones, and very few bad ones. Among the best, in no particular order:
The Who - Toronto "Farewell" show in '82 and "Kids are Alright" in '89.
Eagles - several times, but especially "Hell Freezes Over"
Stones - "Final" tour in '89. "Final" - right. As if.
Willie Nelson - "Willie and Family" around '75ish
ZZ Topp - after they were mature stars around late 90's and when they were a local South Texas band in early 70's
Tom Petty
Paul McCartney - early 90's, past Wings, but included some Wings music and Beatles music with waaay better band.
Robert Plant/Jimmy Page - not quite Zeppelin, but you wouldn't have noticed the difference.
Michael Jackson - yeah, I know, Michael Jackson. Victory Tour.
Heart
Jimmy Buffet - of course

You British people went crazy for this African-American lady back in the early 60s. It even looks like you borrowed a thing or two from herLimier than most wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 6:03 pmCan I just say, thanks for Tom Petty, Iggy, Guns n Roses (apart from Slash, he's ours), Bob Dylan, half of Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, Green Day, Blondie, John Lee Hooker, Lynrd, Beck, Laurie Anderson and a thousand others, but can you please keep your rap, your Bieber and your crappy RnB please, thanks.
