I have. If you've seen one cornfield you've seen them all. But Ferne Clyffe state park is very nice.
I was curious, though and found that out of a state population of 12 million or so, greater Chicago has 9.5 of them. That leaves the rest of a very tall state with the population of Orange County CA.

LOL
My ex wife's family was from Champaign. Could have been Indiana or Iowa.
... A flood from a melting glacier, known as the Kankakee Torrent, which took place approximately 14,000–19,000 years ago led to the topography of the site and its exposed rock canyons....
It's only fairly recently - 1970s - that geologists accepted the impact of cataclysmic events like this or the many Glacial Lake Missoula floods that O Really mentions when the ice dam near the Idaho border burst. Before then, gradualism was the prevailing geologic view.
Wave-cut strandlines cut into the slope at left in photo. These cuts record former high-water lines, or shorelines of Glacial Lake Missoula near Missoula, Montana. Gullies above the highway are the result of modern-day erosion.
I wonder if there will be a second debate. I feel like Trump has nothing to gain from it. The first one was devastating enough for Biden. Hence the headlines and calls for him to step aside. A second debate could fix that, but another terrible performance would be catastrophic for Biden.

Can't believe these two are the best we have.
Debates rarely turn elections, Reagan, Bush and Obama all blew their first debate as incumbent and won a second term. Trump will step on his crank a gazillion times between now and September not to mention being sentenced next week and today's impending meltdown on immunity.
Who knows? By September he may want another debate.

Very good to know. But also - looks like the immunity case was favorable to Trump. Wtf.
End of Second Trump term: the election was rigged. We're holding off on inauguration to get to the bottom of things.

Yeh, the Supremes really screwed the constitution and the country.

If Biden wins in Nov he should break little laws monthly and send thank you cards to SCOTUS each time. Is it an "official act" if a cocaine bump helps him get through a demanding work day?
Biden's debate performance has led his detractors to wonder about his ability to sway undecided voters and/or moderates.
I know they exist, but has anyone else actually met someone that's undecided? Trump is a very polarizing figure. I've yet to meet someone in real life that's gone from undecided to firmly in the Trump camp. Or even someone that's still "undecided". I still hold some hope that Trump will lose.

I'm undecided. If NC is not in play I may vote for Stein or West.

Fair enough. My rebuttal to that is even if Biden loses the electoral college, if he wins the popular vote with a large margin, it'll further highlight the farcical system we have with the electoral college as well as Trump's unpopularity. Not that it matters I guess if Trump wins.

Meh, votes for Stein and West will also be anti-TRE45QN votes.

Bingo
TV news: New poll says that Kamala would do better vs ex-PINO than Joe
A new poll finds President Joe Biden tied with Donald Trump, with most other potential Democratic replacement candidates running behind the former president.
Except for one.
Michelle Obama ― author, attorney, and wife of former President Barack Obama ― has a double-digit lead over Trump, 50%-39%, according to the Reuters/Ipsos poll.
The new poll also finds that 56% of voters, including a third of Democrats, want Biden to drop out of the race amid growing concerns over his age and cognitive health, which were exacerbated by last week’s muddled performance at his debate with Trump.
The poll finds 46% of voters, including 19% of Republicans, want Trump to drop out.
The two are tied with 40% each in the new poll, while Vice President Kamala Harris trails Trump by 1 percentage point, 43%-42%, well within the poll’s 3.5 percentage point margin of error.
Trump leads California Gov. Gavin Newsom by 3 percentage points, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear by 4, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer by 5, and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker by 6, although they also suffer from lower name recognition.
Michelle Obama doesn’t have that problem. She’s also the only candidate in the poll above water in another key factor: 55% have a favorable opinion of Obama, versus 42% unfavorable.
Obama hasn’t exactly been warm to the idea of running for president.
“I’ve never expressed any interest in politics. Ever,” she told Oprah Winfrey last year. “I mean, I agreed to support my husband. He wanted to do it, and he was great at it. But at no point have I ever said, ‘I think I want to run.’ Ever. So, I’m just wondering: Does what I want have anything to do with anything? Does who I choose to be have anything to do with it?”
She said running for office has to be in your soul.
“It is not in my soul,” she said. “Service is in my soul.”
Your country and the world need you to serve, Michelle.
However, she has also said she is “terrified” about the potential outcome of this year’s election with Trump on the ballot again.
I would hope, that much like me, defeating trump is the only agenda item that matters whether it's Joe, Kamala, Michelle, Newsome or someone else. Race and gender are secondary and good, bad or indifferent it just is not a factor.
Whomever the candidate is that has the best chance to win is the beginning and end of the conversation.

Leaving aside Michelle, there doesn't seem to be much space between the options. So, other factors will necessarily be considered. I'd be inclined to hold my nose and support Kamala just because of how severe the insult would be to Blacks, Asians and women to pass on her. Any White male VP would be a shoe-in.
For my part, the prospect of watching Joe's decline for 4 months and then for 4 years is extremely sad, even if Dolt .45's dementia is demonstrably worse.
