Trump was griping on social media at the same time Congress was certifying his electoral win. Exactly four years ago on this day, Jan. 6, 2021, 147 Republicans in Congress refused to certify Biden’s electoral win after spreading Trump’s lie that the election was stolen from him when in fact he lost by a lot to Biden.
GOP lawmakers did this hours after hundreds of Trump’s supporters broke into the Capitol building in search of then-Vice President Mike Pence and then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), among others, with some rioters having stated plans to kill them for certifying Biden’s win.
Trump egged on his supporters the whole time, but the mob failed. Still, their violence resulted in more than 140 police officers injured, several officers dying by suicide, countless lawmakers and Capitol employees terrorized and more than $2.7 million in property damage to the Capitol building....

We've been creating what passes for a middle class in China for fifty years. During that time we decimated our own. All for cheap labor. Plenty of people pointed this out during that entire time. They were all ignored. trump thinks he can magically fix in a short time what took fifty years to fuck up. I have often thought how ironic it is that China, a Communist country, beat us at own game, created a pseudo middle class (as well as a few billionaires), and has enjoyed a trade surplus with us all the time. I'd say they've done pretty good. Because we facilitated it and expanded it. And now trump comes along with his lying and whining.

I really think it's a combo of social media and smartphones becoming so ubiquitous. Everyone is connected 24/7 with the most batshit stupid content being piped into their minds. People are also just plain fucking stupid in this country and proud of it.
