Since a few of you might not understand my positions or leanings, you can now have at it. Fire away!

I won’t be sorry. I did the same thing at the LNF. I don’t hide from anything.O Really wrote: Fri Mar 21, 2025 11:27 pm You might be sorry, but it's a good offer. I may take you up on it.
I actually slept through it. I didn’t know about it until I woke up and browsed through my social media. Honestly, I don’t know how I would have reacted if I had to experience it in “real time.”neoplacebo wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 10:13 am Did you have to hide in a storm sewer whnn that false alarm about a missile attack happened a few years ago? Why have you reduced posting at LNF?Jasmine wrote: Fri Mar 21, 2025 11:05 pm ASK ME ANYTHING.

My two primary sources for news are FoxNews.com and my Twitter newsfeed. If I see a news story that piques my interest, I will read it. Then I Google the key words to see whether other news sites (CNN, NYT, etc.) are also reporting that same story. I then explore more in-depth if the news item is something that really has my attention.O Really wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 10:53 am So we all know that politics, among other topics, is full of exaggeration and hyperbole. If my guy farts, it's a humourous accident and "everybody does it." If your guy farts, it's a total travesty that flies in the face of all societal norms and is a major contributor to air pollution and climate change. Understood. But even within that context, you seem to be willing to take as mostly truth quite a bit of stuff that could easily be debunked. What is your main source of news, and do you check more than one place before accepting it?
I just got tired of the fighting. It got tiresome. I love LNF, but it’s been reduced to posting silly memes and name calling. It seems there are only a few people there who are interested in actually discussing things anymore.bannination wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 1:32 pmWhy have you reduced posting at LNF?Jasmine wrote: Fri Mar 21, 2025 11:05 pm ASK ME ANYTHING.

Good choice. Speaking for myself, I'd much rather die in bed during a nuclear missile attack than in a storm sewer. Besides, the blast might just generate a king hell tsunami that would overwhelm the drainage systems to the point of cracking the goddamn roads above the sewer. Anyway, glad you didn't get wigged out. And as far as I'm concerned, the dipshit who sounded the alarm should be fish slapped in public on Wakiki Beach. Stay out of the sewer and die in bed instead.Jasmine wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 10:50 amI actually slept through it. I didn’t know about it until I woke up and browsed through my social media. The guy should have been fired. I know it was an honest mistake, but he had to be made accountable. He made tens of thousands of people panic and think they were going to die. The governor should have had consequences, too, for allowing so much time to elapse before telling us it was a false alarm.
I go to FoxNews because they are my favorite news channel. While I refuse to watch most of their opinion shows, I do enjoy news anchors like Brett Baier and Shannon Bream. I respect their journalistic skills. I also enjoy “The Five,” mostly for its entertainment value.O Really wrote: Sun Mar 23, 2025 10:39 am Jasmine: "My two primary sources for news are FoxNews.com and my Twitter newsfeed. Good process, but I might wonder why you choose those two as first sources, given the known ummm "inaccuracies" you're likely to find. Here's my complaint about news sources - there are the ones with known bias, and you know what you're getting, and there are variations to that bias, ranging from putting a positive spin on something to passing along a known outright lie. Those aren't the ones that bother me too much, though. What I really don't like are those who are trying so hard to be "objective and fair" that they'll report an outrageous act as if it were a normal occurrence. "Good evening. President Trump announced today that he plans to make it illegal to feed starving children who weigh less than 80 pounds, saying 'Doge has found it wasteful and fraudulent to attempt to save any who have less than 60% chance of surviving.' In other news..." The news people are so afraid of being accused of bias that they equivalize normal and horrible.
I am from Hawaii. Born and raised here. So were my parents and all my grandparents. I guess their ancestors migrated from Japan at some point.GoCubsGo wrote: Sun Mar 23, 2025 1:09 pm Jasmine,
