Trump went on in his post to repeat his argument that Canada joining the U.S. would be advantageous to the country, along with the false claim that the United States subsidizes Canada with "hundreds of billions of dollars a year." ...

I probably wasn't clear on my comment on pluralities. Of course pluralities matter in systems where, for whatever reason, candidates can win without majority. I was speaking of the perception of Americans having elected Trump - the technicality of an electoral win and plurality loss is likely lost on them - and we collectively get blamed for enough of us voting for a psychopath to get him elected.

I didn't do everything that I could have to prevent it. I just can't get excited about activism anymore, and my ability to donate was irrelevant to the obscene amounts raised by both teams.

If I was Canadian I'd be happiest voting for the New Democratic Party. Depending on my district history and the polls I might sometimes vote for the Liberals. By taking Nunavut the NDP won the second or even the first largest landmass.
