David Hogg, DNC Vice Chair, Parkland survivor and gun control activist, has announced his intention to fund primary challengers to moderate Dems. More power to him for the intent, but IMO party officials should not be supporting any primary candidates, challengers or incumbents. Of course, we all know that the party picks sides, like they did Hillary vs Bernie, and like they do incumbents vs anyone. So Idk, is Hogg being unethical or is he bringing balance to the establishment party?

That said, if history is a precursor it'll be a straight white male centrist that's the nominee and winner.

The country was so fatigued in 2020 and a return to normalcy was longed for.

If we actually have elections in 2028 it'll be a landslide.

I wonder why someone would think the Democratic party's base is far left. All I can think of is that's it's just more Fox News bullshit. Throw on incessant lies from trump about "far left Democrats" for years and gullible fools start to believe it. I'd say less than five percent of Democrats are "far left" and probably not even that much. It's truly amazing how allegedly rational people can believe bullshit and lies.

New poll shows who Dems want in 2028 — and it’s not Kamala Harris

... The poll, released on May 30 by Atlas Intel, found Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and former transportation secretary in the Biden administration, to be the top pick among Democrats who responded to the survey.

A total of 31.5% of self-identified Democrats who responded to the poll said they would vote for Buttigieg for president in four years, according to the poll.

I like him, but that surprises me.

Other surveys in May from firms such as Echelon Insights and McLaughlin & Associates have found Harris in first place in the hypothetical primary, making Atlas Intel’s poll stand out among the rest.

Harris is the third most popular pick among Democrats in the poll, falling behind U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

Among Democrats, 19.4% said they would vote for Ocasio-Cortez, while 16.6% said they would vote for Harris.

While Buttigieg, Ocasio-Cortez and Harris are the top three picks for Democrats, none of them have made explicit statements saying they will run for president.

Harris herself has been weighing a run for governor in California or another run for president, according to CBS News.

I didn't used to like Kamala, but felt better about her after the 2024 campaign. Idk Shapiro well, but otherwise would be happy with any in this bunch being the nominee.

Considering some who have held the job in the past, Governor of California might not be as hard a job as one would think. With a supermajority Dem in the legislature, most any capable Dem could get a lot done and likewise a Repug might as well go play golf. I also liked Kamala better after the campaign than before, but I think if you compared her to Michigans' Whitmer or New York's Kochul, she isn't in their league - yet.
