The Food Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

That's an expensive place. Lotta people at that time might only make $2.00 or less per day. It's a rich person's meal, fershure.

Same same, but I'm outraged that you're charging your "guests". 75 cents for turkey stuffed with chestnuts, c'mon. Sides, dessert and coffee might bring it to $3! I won't be attending this year.

Never tried it myself, but I've seen somebody else do it. Guy actually knew what he was doing and there was little drama but it turned out really good. Even so, I prefer the traditional roasting, if for no other reason than the fragrance it creates in the house.

Been putting them on the grill for 30 years, gas or charcoal. No clean up, great flavor, always moist, tasty and frees up the oven.

Grilled is good. I've done that a couple of times but with just turkey breast, not whole birds. Easiest turkey I ever had was one that came in a cook-in-bag. put it in the oven frozen, take it out a couple of hours or so later and it's perfect. Dunno why but I don't think they make those anymore. Probably killed a couple of rats or something.

For years I had smoked about a 12 pounder on my Green Egg. Inject with some "Emeril's" marinade and would come out so moist. Use mesquite wood chips. With weather this year I am glad I am not doing it.

Eggs are great, they can do anything. Buddy of mine had one, as well as the usuals we did pizza and bread.
