The reason I ask is it's interesting to see what others think about the present day United States. For example, during the constant presidential shit posting threatening to annex Greenland, I think it was important to read Danish and Greenlandic media, including social media. I speak neither, language, but language is no barrier with modern technology.

Needless to say, public opinion of the United States has completely cratered with many allies and their citizens that formerly had a rather high degree of respect and admiration for our country. The "win" you mentioned that was the result of Trump's tactic of issuing threats against the sovereignty of our allies is one such catalyst.

I'd argue that soft power is as important as flexing ones might. American soft power is quickly diminishing.

Does one typically respect someone that threatens and belittles and bullies them? No. They try to extract themselves from that relationship and move on.

Respect is not the same as fear.

I have many people I respect and admire that I'd help in a heartbeat. None of them have threatened me.
