The homophobic thread :>

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Let me know next time, ok?

More heart breaking news:
Two twat twinkies got to show their ass on TV by attempting to get a "marriage license" in a small one horse town in NC. With their troupe of news people, iPhone groupies, and a female clown dressed as a "minister", they walked into the applications office seeking a "marriage license". The clown with her shirt on backwards even offered up a "prayer" asking God to make them mean old people give them a license.

Twat Twinkie fail video

Who the f--- do these idiots think they are. Did they honestly think that because they had news coverage that the woman at the desk was going to cower to their demands? "I guess we'll have to go to Maryland to get married" she says. Well, don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. Good riddance. I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms. (btw----you need more gas money?)

Other states are more liberal and twisted in their thinking than North Carolina.....plus about 36 more states.
If you want to classify dislike of unnatural and immoral sex as hate and backwardness, so be it. That's not going to change personal opinions.

As far as the news item is concerned, they merely needed an application to take to Maryland to obtain legal marriage there.
They decided to make a public showing of the fact that North Carolina doesn't recognize same sex marriage....no biggie.

All they accomplished was receipt of an application......now on to Maryland.

So it's not the marriage issue that bothers you, it's the sex? So if a couple of gay guys with erectile dysfunction wanted to get married, that would be OK with you?

None of it "bothers" me. Same sex marriage and same sex relations is unnatural and immoral.
I'm not about to ask of one's sexual disorders; straight or gay.

I'll bet we can come up with a list of things that some would consider "unnatural and immoral" and that are still legal. They're quite different issues.

The homophobes' last stand is going to end up like Custer's-in defeat, it
will just take longer. Weren't they also attempting to make the point that
federal law now trumps state law in this particular area? I think I heard that
was one of the issues.

I think some religious sects used to think dancing was immoral - I don't know about the "unnatural" part. Some probably think gambling and drinking are immoral. They used to just tell their own members to stay away from dance halls, gambling dens of inequity, and bars. I guess now with membership dwindling, they're having to try to impose on non-members, too. Kinda like if the Amish wanted to make cars and central electricity illegal.

Reminds me of a joke - What is the difference in a Baptist and a Methodist? The Methodist will say hello to you when he sees you in the liquor store.

Go for it.....I wanna see 'em.

Probably will. As you say...just going to take a while. So far the federal law ain't trumped the state law, and those two women didn't make it happen either.
Vrede wrote:"It's just weird that Mr.B isn't bothered by what he thinks is "unnatural and immoral". Or, he's just being dishonest, which would also be immoral but may come naturally to him."
There's nothing I, as one person, can do to change today's habits or sway peoples opinions, therefore
there's no reason for me to be "bothered" by gay marriage or AGW....both are occurring and I'll probably be long gone before Earth freezes or scorches over or Hell bursts wide open due to overcrowding.....nothing dishonest about that opinion.
O Really wrote:"I think some religious sects used to think dancing was immoral - I don't know about the "unnatural" part."
Nothing unnatural about dancing; to my knowledge. The frowning on dancing involves the switching of dance partners (slow dancing in particular) where a married man dances with another man's wife or deliberately seeks other female dance partners.

"Some probably think gambling and drinking are immoral. They used to just tell their own members to stay away from dance halls, gambling dens of inequity, and bars. "They" don't have to "tell" members where they should or should not go. Once they voluntarily accept God in their lives, their own conscience is their guide. If they previously lived a worldly life, their lives are going to be closely scrutinized from then on....someone is just waiting to watch him/her make a mistake. What's "central electricity"?

"Reminds me of a joke - What is the difference in a Baptist and a Methodist? The Methodist will say hello to you when he sees you in the liquor store."
Just because one calls himself a Christian.......
Vrede wrote:Q: Why are some Baptists opposed to sex? A: Because it might lead to dancing.

Some people think the Amish don't use electricity, or ride in cars. They do use electricity, generated at their houses, and use propane appliances, too - like washers, etc. But the propane tank is in the yard, not from the gas company. Same with the electricity - the prohibition is against the connection to the "secular" or "English" world, not against electricity itself. They don't drive cars, but they can ride in them. They can't have phones in the house, but most have an outdoor sorta phonebooth phone. So suppose the Amish wanted to impose their sincerely held beliefs on the rest of us. They don't - not even in places where they are a near majority like parts of southeast PA and Ohio.

Current events, such as this thread topic, is another one of the reasons they shun the secular world. There's a TV program called the "Amish Mafia".....
I believe that's a purely fabricated "reality" show.

"Amish Mafia" is more fiction than not. "Breaking Amish" although taking some liberties with total accuracy is based on fact. But they don't actually shun the secular world. They sometimes shun each other if they violate the rules. They work, shop, and integrate well with "English" people. And - the part about "rumspringa" where young people are turned loose to experience the secular world is true. Amish is a Christian faith, taking a literal interpretation of the Bible. Again, suppose they wanted to impose their beliefs on the rest of us.

No, they didn't make it happen, but I believe that was one of their reasons
for doing this. I see where Asheville is going to have the topless thing again.
Mumpower is probably having a meltdown already.

Amish Mafia, help us build this barn or else. Everybody can choose what part
of popular culture they are interested in and forget the rest. Nobody makes
people watch reality shows, etc.

If those half-witted cows want to get out and show their bare pimpled tits and muffin tops in public, they're only making an ass out of themselves.
Eliminate the media exposure and they'll lose interest. Same with queer pride parades. If no one showed up to watch, their bubble would be busted.

You're right on both counts, Homo. but your homophobic friends can't ignore the parades any more than Mumpower can ignore the breasters, can they? Why do you suppose that is?

"Whether you go to be enthused or outraged they're some of the most entertaining parades around."
Here's a surprise.... from BRN: (very professionally written story)
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Several hundred people attended a rally in Asheville to promote the right of women to go topless.

About a dozen women bared their breasts during the rally Sunday afternoon.

Last year's event attracted about the same numbers.

The first event in 2011 sponsored by GoTopless.org attracted about 2,000 people and several dozen topless women.
(Several dozen??? I could have sworn there were no more than six reported by WLOS)

Police reported no problems.

Organizer Jeff Johnson, of Huntsville, Ala., said the rally was designed to promote women's equality.

His group says laws and social stigmas against women being topless in public are unfair.
Surprise! This protest is organized by a MAN! I wonder if he's connected to "Girls Gone Wild"?

Two people held signs with scripture they said show those at the event that the topless women were wrong.
It appears the larger of the audience were male gawkers; gotta go with Homerphobe on this one....
If the media ignored them and stopped the free publicity, they'd probably go away.
