The homophobic thread :>

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I know exactly what you mean. You shall know them by their fruits, except in your case where your rotten fruit doesn't mean anything. You get a pass but no one else does.

Yep....I was wrong. No comprehension at all. I did mention "by their fruits...."
Does that trait run in your family, or you the only one blessed with it?...

That covers anyone who uses Christianity (or any religion) to cover or justify devious actions....individuals or entire populations.

This is touching; it reminds me of the young Catholic music director who is now serving something like 35 years for child porn stuff from Asheville a couple of years ago. The best part is that the head of that particular church was also charged with evidence tampering and other stuff like obstruction of justice, etc, etc. The only thing I can think of is that they just didn't have enough snakes.....or faith.

I didn't know Catholics dealt with snakes.......

Everything I've seen was ritualistic in nature.

You think he's related to that wacko preacher at Westboro? It's hard to believe that bunch of inbreds are from Kansas.
I would have bet anything they were from California or New Jersey.

I was defending his right to speak his mind, he also has the right to be a redneck wacko. There's a difference in being a wacko and a freak of nature like
the ones I hold in high regards of disgust. It doesn't appear he's one of <them>.

I'm waiting for all the "free speech" idiots like Palin, etc. to rush to the defense of Kluwe. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/01/chris-k ... e-priefer/ No, I won't wait.

Judging from the fact that Phil was dumped from the show (albeit temporary) for speaking against gays, I would say his rights "were in peril"....
just as the rights of Kluwe's when he spoke in favor of the same subject.

No matter how you feel about homosexuality, pro or con, it's still a hot topic that is not the best of subjects to discuss in the workplace.
You're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

What it boils down to, is that people are getting tired of the subject being shoved on them.

Phil.. as we all.. has Free Speech rights.. Phil.. as we all.. does not have the right to be free of the consequences from what we say.

As tired as the people simply seeking equal treatment?

Vrede wrote: "Honestly, Mr.B, if you got fired for saying something crude over the PA or to even one customer
at your retail place of work would you be here the next day claiming that your free speech rights had been violated?"

No, and that's a rather absurd comparison. Speaking over the PA, or making remarks to a customer, would mean that I'm at work, being paid,
and utilizing company property to voice my personal opinions. The same would probably apply if I were off the clock, but in the parking lot.

The company I work for, as well as the companies associated with the two in question are driven by the almighty dollar; they're afraid any negative
comments on the hot topic of homosexuality will keep someone from spending their money at their venue of business.

The homosexual issue is not only a "rights" issue; it's political as well, because the candidate/politician is afraid of the backlash and he/she is afraid
of not being elected/re-elected. Public figures do not have the "right" to speak their opinions openly, and I'm not talking about Constitutional Rights,
because of the venomous backlash from the liberal left and the homosexuals.

Personally, as you know, I feel homosexuality is wrong, not only from a religious standpoint, but the very act goes against nature itself.......
but that's my opinion, and if someone in a supervisory position at my work were to ask me, that would be my answer.

"Yes, the people who benefit from unequal laws always resist equality and thus get "tired of the subject being
shoved on them". Deal with it or change, people will always oppose inequality and they usually win."

"Inequality" as in homosexuality being an act against the very nature of human existence?

I'm certain that we will have to "deal with it" because more and more states, because of the aforementioned reason, re: politicians, have
passed laws embracing homosexuality; that doesn't mean everyone has to approve of it, so there goes the "deal with it or change" thought.

Of course they have the "right" to speak their opinions openly.. . again.. they do not have the right to be free of the consequences of exercising that right.. As for "venomous backlash" ..following such dogmatic condemnation do you expect people to forgo their free speech right to respond?

Vrede wrote: "Yes, we opponents of racism, homophobia and pedophilia have gotten strong enough that there are economic consequences."
I don't recall pedophilia being a part of this discussion, but since you brought it up, I have to wonder why you associate homosexuality with pedophilia when you staunchly and vehemently deny that male homosexuals that prefer boys, or women who prefer girls, aren't necessarily pedophiles. :wtf:

I too, am a despiser of racism and pedophilia. I repeat; I do not believe that homosexuality is normal; religiously or naturally.
That doesn't make me "homophobic" or "bigoted". Those are convenient words of the liberal left and activist gay groups.
