IRS - Scammers
From CNN 31 October 2013:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Taxpayers, beware: Fraudsters impersonating IRS agents are calling people across the country demanding they pay taxes that they don't even owe.
--------------------------------------------------------------
article
It was noted that the scammers:
• Declare that taxes are owed to IRS
• Threaten the recipient of the call
• Demand payment
So, don't be confusing these scammers with actual IRS agents, who:
• Declare that taxes are owed to IRS
• Threaten the recipient of the call
• Demand payment

Yeah, maybe some of them. Also those who might have tried to shave their tax returns a bit. Or those who think the IRS is out to get them because they're teabaggers.bannination wrote:I guess the same people that fall for this are the same people that fall for the Nigerian scammers?

Sure thing....just let Uncle Sam keep all that money you've paid in.....but, you could start at the beginning of this thread and not pay taxes....Vrede wrote: "It's easy to avoid being part of the problem - don't use the VA, don't accept SSI, don't sign up for Medicare, etc."
yep, that's the ticket; no scammers, no tax returns....which could lead to free room and board, free clothing, shared bedroom for a few years......

That's what you get for thinking; be careful, you'll hurt yourself......I was quoting Granny Clampett.Vrede wrote: "It's not the money you paid in, that went to support previous generations. I thought you'd be fine with the "Infernal Revenooer Service" as long as it's supporting you."

I did not know that. Meanwhile, I intend to go to work as usual and help subsidize the 47%ers that Mitt Romney so fondly spoke of. They need our help.Vrede wrote:Healthcare workers pay taxes to the IRS, too.

Won't be long before I'm one as well; or dead. Should I become one, I plan to still work as a part time wizard, associate jesus, or some sort of minister without portfolio on as needed basis in case by case situations. Isn't that just a peach of a plan? I like it.Mr.B wrote:YES!Vrede wrote:"That's right! Mr.B is now one of the 47%."
