The Global Warming thread.

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Bad weather comin'....!

Our back yard is enclosed on three sides by a 4' high chain-link fence. The remaining side is enclosed with a five foot board fence.

We left home early this morning for a Dr. appt. When we got back home, there was a solid-white white squirrel sitting on the top rail of the chain link fence at the end of the driveway. He was SOLID-WHITE, not mottled with grey as in being crossed with a grey squirrel like in the photo.

I thought that was unusual, because I rarely see squirrels sit on the fence rail. He just sat there staring at us, and didn't even flee when we got out of the car. I thought nothing more of it and went in the house, out of the cold wind that was blowing rather stiffly.

Looking out my kitchen window.....lo and behold! There was another SOLID-WHITE squirrel sitting on the board fence! Now, that's really odd, I thought. Turning away from the window, I though nothing more of it.

Later this afternoon we left to visit the M-I-L in the nursing home. Passing my neighbor's house...what do we see but ANOTHER SOLID-WHITE squirrel sitting on the top rail of my neighbor's chain-link fence! My mind began racing, my heart was beating wildly! Surely these sightings had to be a sign of something foreboding! Stopping the car right there I dug out my trusty calculator and my Farmer's Almanac and began figuring, and came up with the answer. Took a bit to figure it out, but it finally hit me!

Symbolized by the solid-whiteness of the squirrels, before winter is over, there will be a 4 to 4-1/2 foot snowfall, the depth determined by the height of the fences.

Goes to show....squirrels know a bit about climate change and global warming.....all we have to do is know how to read the signs!!!

Used to be, the only place you saw them was in Brevard; now they're spreading out. Also, it was rare to see one with grey mixed in.

I might have to change my mind about their weather prediction capabilities, although I'm still a bit rattled about seeing three pure whites on a four foot fence.. Spooky!

You keep adding your faults to the list....this is fun.
One thing's for sure; you've just got to have the last word. I looked up this habit of yours...this is what I found, and it fits you to a 'T'...

'What do you call someone who has to have the last word?"

Answer:
"Insecure. Lots of things you could call them, but that is probably the most accurate. They are worried they won't be heard or someone will over rule them or make them look foolish. If they get the last word, then they win; at least in their minds."
Most certainly, you will have the last word in this, so I ask you ...where is this going?

Rick Santorum Wants Pope Francis To Stop Talking About Climate Change

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum says he loves Pope Francis, but he wants the pontiff to stop talking about climate change.

Santorum, a devout Catholic, told Philadelphia radio host Dom Giordano on Monday that the pope should "leave science to the scientists."

His comments come as the pope, who holds a degree as a chemical technician and worked as a chemist before turning to the priesthood, becomes increasingly vocal about climate change....

The consensus is the earth is getting warmer.

Take a good look around, read any forum, news report feedback, opinions threads, blogs, website comments, etc. I believe many will agree with me that the earth is, in fact, getting colder, much colder.

And I don't mean temperature-wise.

Of course, there is that Bible thing that many adamantly cling to. Co-incidence or fact?

Fact.

That "Bible thing" is becoming reality. While there are still good people out there who will go out of their way to help another, attitudes towards others have changed drastically, for the worse, within the last few decades. For instance, in this last mass killing, our president could only speak of gun control .... slamming one type of killing device while favoring all along, killing devices that snuff out the lives of the unborn.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Abortion tools don't kill babies, people kill babies.

Off-topic subject for this thread, but it needed a reply.

Can't remember the source, but statistically I remember reading that this is one of the safest periods in human history to be alive in.

Also, could it be that in the past we simply weren't aware of killings like we are today with the prevalence of mass media and the internet? I mean, going back further still within Christian times you had tons of bad stuff even though arguably people were wayyyy more pious than today. I'd rather be alive today than say three, four hundred years ago.
You aren't doing it wrong if no one knows what you are doing.
