Here's the thing - it's nice to say, in theory, that whoever is at the top of the food chain is responsible for everything that happens below. But the fact is, most CEO's (or POTUSes) know relatively few details of what people do more than a couple of levels or so below them. True, the top executive sets a tone, and may set some policies, but most of the time are not that directly responsible if somebody off in the hinterlands makes a poor decision. Point being, I don't know what Obama knew and when he knew it with regard to this incident. And I doubt anyone else here does either. But if anyone wants to use the "buck stops here" theory to blame Obama, fine. Thinking it's a direct action and a tin-foil worthy conspiracy is entirely something else. Hey Bro, I guess you expected W to give the order to shoot down every commerical aircraft that was airborne over the US after the first one hit the Tower.

Obama, had time to react and assist those under attack or trying to defend US territory. I don't know the actual time it took for all commercial aircraft to land when the 9/11 attack was underway thereby eliminating that threat. Do you? According to the infromation now made piblic the Americans engaged at Benghazi were still fighting and asking for assistance hours after the initial attack. Time and forces were available to react and Obama's Administration stuck their head in the sand and let the defenders die without making an effort to save them.

As for you Stinker, tell us your interpretation of the chain of command. Do the War Fighting CINCS reprot to SECDEF or to Obama? What are the actual duties of the Commander in Chief, MAJCOM Commanders, and The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs?

Glad to read that you now understand and acknowledge that Obama was fully aware that our embassy was under attack and elected to do nothing. Maybe when he finally admits that it was he that gave the order to stand down and gives a truthful explanation as to why he did so, he and the rest of us can learn from what happened and establish procedures to not let it happen again.
