Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

But since the mother is the one who was shot, she’s probably suffered enough, Shorstein said. “You have to put great weight on the fact that the person who is criminally liable is the one who was shot,” he said. “I’d be very reluctant to prosecute in this situation.” ...
Hard to argue with that. And, she's already doing community service - by representing gunhuggers so well.

Also the kid - shot mom and put her in jail?

Too bad there wasn't another armed preschooler in the back seat, this could have all been prevented.
I don't think jail would be an appropriate sentence. As we have discussed, the US has way too many people locked up unnecessarily. But I'd like her to be charged/convicted with a felony so that she loses her guns. Problem is, leaving a gun around for the kiddies is just a misdemeanor in gun-happy Florida anyway.
Do these people just leave loaded guns lying around their children, how stupid do you have to be to realize that that's a bad idea?

Sounds like she's a neglectful parent.
You aren't doing it wrong if no one knows what you are doing.

It does. Especially since she apparently let's the 4-year old fire a .22 at the range.
So what did she have in her back seat accessible to the 4-year old? A .45 caliber (apparently) semi-auto. How does a 4-year old fire this? Either (1)he picks it up, jacks a shell in the chamber, releases the safety and pulls the trigger; or (2) the firearm was sitting in the back seat ready to fire - shell in chamber, safety off. Or maybe it was a Glock with no safety. IMNVHO, I don't believe the 4-year old jacked a shell and released the safety. I think she left a ready-to-fire deadly weapon within reach of her kid.

Serious question: so would she be considered a "good guy" or a "bad guy" in the lexicon of gun, ummmm, "enthusiasts"? Does a "good guy with a gun" leave it out for her kid? Despite her negligence and ignoring one of the cardinal rules of firearm use, is she a "good guy" because she's licensed and an NRA propaganda queen?

AP- one hour ago

PALATKA, Fla. — Sheriff's investigators in north Florida were trying on Thursday to determine how a 4-year-old boy got his hands on the gun they say he used to shoot his mother as she drove a pickup truck.

idiot nra sucking mom glorifies guns at home and keeps loaded ready to fire gun under her seat - in case of evil bad guys -

how the fuck else do they think he got the gun?

I'm sure the nra, ALEC and governor Voldemort are feeling ashamed of themselves - or would be if they cared

Officials Want Mom Charged for Son Shooting Her (with video)

The mother of a 4-year-old boy who shot her as they were riding in a pickup truck should face a misdemeanor charge, authorities said Tuesday as they released details of the shooting for the first time.

Fine with me. I'd be happy if the same conditions for purchase, use, and liability that currently apply to a Prius also apply to firearms. Good idea.

Don't forget same conditions for the gunowner as the driver, but we all know that gunhuggers would pitch a fit about both.

Maybe a plan could be devised where we gunhuggers could hone our skills by using Prius' for target practice. Then the gun criers and deniers wouldn't worry about gun owners shooting themselves.

Sure...NRA members can shoot at Prius's packed in explosives. One guy has already applied for a Darwin award to test the practice...

That was an interesting claim, so I looked it up.

14.5 deaths per 100,000 was the death rate for all passenger cars combined, around a decade ago. But automobile death rates have fallen since then, to the point where there are more gun deaths than automobile deaths. When this fact made the news in December, the reaction from the NRA crowd was predictable. Including lots of images like Seths.

Wow, ammosexual Seth Milner just piles stupid upon stupid. Even almost every gunhugger uses their car far more than their guns, and they're not just driving recreationally or because they're as frightened of the world as Seth Milner. So, the comparison would get him an "F" in middle school Statistics.

No, it was created for gullible submorons to waste their time researching in order to debunk it in a forum.

Just because two unrelated facts can be compared doesn't mean either one has relevance to the other.
