Democrats had Hillary, a pre-Tea Party Republican, and Bernie, a traditional Democrat much further to the left. (Plus four others who dropped out earlier.) She's hardly been an only choice.

Granted, after the primaries its the Republicans who have the better selection: Pre-Tea Party Republican (Hillary), or post-Tea Party Republican (Trump).
