A Florida Man...

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Florida man dies after being hit by helicopter blades

That can happen. I saw some scary stuff with shipboard landings on rough seas, and one needs to always be careful around them. However, this is Florida man:
A man was killed after being hit by helicopter blades while driving a truck Thursday afternoon in Hillsborough County, Fla., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A helicopter carrying two occupants suffered engine failure before crashing on 50th Street at Palm River Road.

The Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling northbound approaching Palm River Road when the driver was fatally struck by one of the helicopter’s turning rotor blades.

No other injuries were reported.

Today We Have Justice' — Florida Police Officer Convicted In 2015 Shooting

A jury in West Palm Beach, Fla., has convicted a former police officer in the shooting death of a black motorist. It's the first time in 30 years that an on-duty police officer in Florida has been convicted in a shooting....
30 years. Even an LEO fanboy should be able to admit that ain't right. How many have the Florida cops killed in that time?
But he was only a brown Asian type. We ain't about to convict a white guy.
Former Florida officer Nouman Raja sentenced to 25 years for killing Corey Jones

He's got a head injury, but doctors say it will be a unique challenge determining whether there's permanent brain damage or he's just returned to his baseline level of stupidity.

No surprise there - I don't know if he was wearing one or not, but I think helmets are optional in Texas. Often turns their bikes into "donor-mobiles"

Another one goes over the high side; there must be something mesmerizing that's causing this; or it could be just stupid.

Who knew
turns out this dude was lucky drunk. I was on the crew of the USS Kilauea for a couple of years and I consider this kind of shit disrespectful; he should have gone all the way down.

This is kind of weird.

It's actually a pretty effective anti-rape tactic. :o

Trump team defends president on Twitter after supporter shouts 'shoot' migrants at border

... President Donald Trump was on a riff about border control agents working to prevent migrants from crossing the border while speaking at his Wednesday night rally in Panama City Beach, Fla.

“You have hundreds and hundreds of people and you have two or three border security people that are brave and great — And don't forget, we don't let them and we can't let them use weapons. We can't. Other countries do. We can't. I would never do that. But how do you stop these people?" the president said.

As the president posed that question — a rally attendee in the crowd shouted: “shoot them.”

The president paused and instead of condemning the remark he said: “That’s only in the panhandle, can you get away with that statement."

The crowd erupted in cheers and laughter — after another brief pause, Trump repeated: “Only in the panhandle.” ...
He might have a point, billy.pilgrim. :P

"Florida Man" exclusively killers will probably be bizarre enough, but won't be as much fun as the real thing, a cornucopia of weird. For example:

Police say no charges for Florida father who asked clerk if he could pawn his infant child (with video)
Spoiler:
"The man told police this was part of a prank video for social media"

Still stupid.
"Detectives say they determined the child was safe but they contacted the Florida Department of Children and Family Services as a routine part of their investigation."

Fwiw, he definitely did not latch the infant carseat in before driving away. The cops should have noticed, but DCFS may have something to say about that, too.

Sounds like something they would have done on the old "Candid Camera" show. Two of the funniest episodes ever on TV were the one where they (a) "closed Delaware for repairs" and (b) got people to speak to the "hearing ear dog."

They had a roadblock set up and told everybody stopping that "I'm sorry, but Delaware is closed today." The comments and expressions were hilarious. The other one had a guy sitting on a bench with what I recall was a Golden Retriever-looking dog. People were enticed somehow to need to speak with the guy, and were told he was deaf and used a hearing ear dog. They actually got some people to talk to the the dog, and then the dog nuzzled the guy's ear like he was whispering.

I can remember seeing that show when I was a kid; some folks would actually get hostile with Alan Funt until they were advised it was a scam. A lot of them were funny as hell but I never saw either of the ones you mentioned.

There was an Egyptian copycat version in the 70s. I saw one of their skits on a Stupid TV special.
They would have a guy place a brief case near people and then run away. You were supposed to laugh at the scared fleeing people.

Amazing how times change, isn't it?
"Bombing" used to be a cartoon standard, too. Roadrunner and Wiley, Spy vs. Spy, Bugs Bunny - all blew something/somebody up every episode.
