Of course, you can use that argument to say that a team that goes 7-4 against ranked teams is still better than the 11-0 NWBTC bully, but it won't matter because the 7-4 team won't get to the playoffs. I think using a schedule strength to evaluate a team is fine, but it doesn't take the place of a score from a real game. But clearly UCF is inferior to SEC teams and couldn't beat any of them, given its weak schedule, right? Oh, wait.![]()
They did beat one very beat up team, but even then, it took several really big bad calls.
That game remains the only time I've seen a touchdown run blown dead.
You left out the part about the 11-0 team ending up with a higher score than the 7-4 team and throwing themselves parties and parades and creating fake rings and trophies, when all they did was barely beat a 7-4 sec team.
Or the next year when they were beat down by a 5th ranked sec team and ran around claiming that they should be in the 4 team playoffs.
But here we are again, ucf all set to play nobody
