Do you ever wish you hadn't read something. The image of those two mud wrestling in thongs is just plain downright hurtful.
"in thongs" is the product of YOUR imagination . . . and thank you oh so much for that.

Since breakfast is ruined anyhow, we can add Rosie O'Donnell and Piers Morgan to our images of mud wrestlers in thongs.

This a pretty good link. Nothing new in it, but is pretty well encapsulates my own personal response to the people in my life who cheerlead this motherfucker and all the vermin with which he surrounds himself. This young man manages to do it in a direct manner, but without all the anger and sailor words that scramble to jump out of my mouth.

I have a somewhat similar letter from a very different time - more protest in my background than flag waving, but always the optimism that things keep getting better.

Mine may die with me, I haven't decided.

Roundup: Trump-Era Deregulation in the Courts

The Institute for Policy Integrity tracks the outcomes of litigation over the Trump administration’s deregulatory efforts in this Roundup. The Roundup includes litigation over federal agency rule suspensions; repeals; rescissions; efforts to weaken regulations through guidance, memoranda, amendments, or replacements; and other agency actions.

Unsuccessful - 39, 93%
An outcome is considered unsuccessful for the Trump administration if (1) a court ruled against the agency or (2) the relevant agency withdrew the action after being sued. If there are different rulings on the same deregulatory action, the entry is assigned an “X” as long as one court ruled against the agency.

Successful - 3, 7%
An outcome is considered successful for the Trump administration if the agency won the lawsuit without having to withdraw the challenged action, whether or not that win was on purely procedural grounds (such as mootness) or on the merits.

One can only hope that history repeats itself:
Some people are holding their breath, recalling the last time a Fourth of July was tied to a sitting president.

Back in 1970, supporters of Richard Nixon staged an "Honor America Day" in Washington, D.C.

Vietnam War protesters flooded the event. Some staged a marijuana "smoke-in" on the National Mall, while others waded into the reflecting pool opposite the Lincoln Memorial.

Police used tear gas on some of the protesters, but the wind carried the gas into the crowd attending the ceremony.

After Trump's tweet in February, critic William Kristol responded: "The last president to try to hijack July 4th was Richard Nixon, who staged Honor America Day on July 4, 1970. It was widely ridiculed. Nixon later left office in disgrace."
I'd love to see the nasty women in pussy hats hijack this thing 😾
What to expect at the Washington DC 4th of July: Army tanks, a burning flag and Baby Trump

... Already, protesters have threatened to air their own counter celebration.

Trump's planned festivities are being compared to Richard Nixon's 'Honor America Day' in 1970 but that event devolved into riots as anti-war protesters were tear gassed by police....

Trump baby balloon

The liberal activist organization Code Pink is planning to fly a “Baby Trump blimp," referencing the 20-foot blimp that flew in London during Trump’s visits there in 2018 and 2019. According to the event description, it is still fundraising to “make sure Trump gets a great view.”

The group lists the protest as taking place in front of the Lincoln Memorial. But it's unclear how close they will get given security restrictions in place before and during the celebration.

The group will be protesting the Trump administration’s handling of the border crisis and “spreading hate and racism across the U.S. and the world,” among other issues, according to the group's web site.

The Trump Baby Balloon, depicting an orange-hued Trump in a diaper clutching a Twitter-ready cell phone in his right hand, has become an iconic fixture at protests including recently in London and at the U.S.-Mexico border.

John McCain supporters

Two military veterans groups are planning to hand out T-shirts on the mall "to honor the military service and sacrifice" of the family of John McCain, the late senator with whom Trump has feuded.

VoteVets – a liberal political action committee that almost exclusively backs Democratic candidates, according to OpenSecrets – is teaming up with Rags of Honor – a screen printing shop that employs homeless veterans – to give out the "Big Bad John" shirts depicting the USS John S. McCain.

That ship was at the center of a recent controversy after it was revealed that the Navy was asked to move the destroyer bearing the Arizona Republican's name when Trump visited Japan last month.

Then-acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan said the White House military liaison had asked that the 7th fleet to hide the ship from Trump – who was outspoken in his criticism of McCain even after the veteran of the Vietnam War was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer – but the Navy ignored the request.

Flag burning

The man at the center of the 1984 U.S. Supreme Court case that protected the burning of the U.S. flag as constitutionally protected free speech is planning to protest the president as well.

Gregory Lee Johnson, who recently settled for $225,000 with the city of Cleveland for burning an American flag outside of the Republican National Convention in 2016, said he'll be doing it again Thursday.

“I am going to D.C. on the Fourth of July and I’m going to burn the flag in protest (of his) whole fascist agenda," Johnson told USA TODAY.

“Think about all Trump has done to whip people into a frenzy,” he said.
More power to them, but I would not go if I was still in the area.
I wouldn't want to be counted as an attendee in the crowd shots.
I doubt that the protests will be large enough to have an impact. Not a single lefty group that I subscribe to has asked folks to come.
Some images will be used to smear all anti-45SHOLE folks.

Comments:
For the first time in my adult life, I will not be watching the glorious 4th of July celebration in Washington, DC. It's obvious that Trump will turn it into a campaign rally, and an opportunity for the peasants to honor their 'great leader', ala Kim Jong Un. With tanks and planes parading through the masses, it is certain to be a copycat of the parades we see in Russia, North Korea and China. It will be ostentatious, grotesque and completely out of context for a celebration that marks the founding of our nation. Someone needs to organize a national boycott to try and shatter any claims by Trump as to how many millions of subjects honored their "great leader".
"A portion of that will feature Trump honoring U.S. forces...."
Donald got FIVE military deferrals, to keep him OUT the service to the country.
How much "honor" can he bestow?
The country called on him FIVE TIMES. Each time he said "No".
"Trump's planned festivities are being compared to Richard Nixon's 'Honor America Day' in 1970" WHAT? A comparison between Trump and Nixon? Impossible! Nixon's fingers were longer.
Among other things
Melania’s fingers are longer.
Trump's nose is certainly longer.
Trump will be launching bottle rockets from his rear while the love of his life Kim Jong sings the national anthem in broken English. Senator Lindsey Graham will be there interviewing with Sean Hannity defending Trump and his actions. Attorney general William Barr will be interviewing with Laura Ingraham threatening to sue anyone who criticizes Trump.... Caterers will be there serving Wendy's and KFC.

Cool, I may just have to buy some of those baby Baby Trumps balloons.
Or t-shirts, greeting cards, mugs, pillows, stickers, totes . . .

If the costs of the Independence I-Trump Day activities are really "worth it” as POSPOTUS says, why is he hiding what they are?

Curious about the crowd size, I looked through the noon broadcast news and the cable news stations for coverage - nothing.

I went to whitehouse.gov and searched "4th of july 2019" filtered for the Past 30 Days hoping to find an agenda - also nothing. How incompetent is that?!

Found this article, #1 on the googled list.
11:45 a.m. - 2 p.m. National Independence Day Parade - Not being covered anywhere, not even CSPAN or Faux Noise!
Other scheduled events, no mention of 45SHOLE or his speech other than "and many more."
    :---P

    Went to nps.gov, finally success:
Special July 4th Events in DC Area National Parks

    National Independence Day Parade
    11:45 a.m. - 2 p.m.

    Salute to America
    6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Lincoln Memorial

President Donald J. Trump honors America’s armed forces with music, military demonstrations, flyovers and much more. Participants include the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, the U.S. Army Band (“Pershing’s Own”), the Armed Forces Chorus, the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Team, and many others. Gates open at 3:30 p.m.

    A Capitol Fourth
    8 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol

This all-star salute to America's 243rd birthday with performances by Grammy Award-winning music legend Carole King, multi-platinum recording artist Vanessa Williams, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat, the National Symphony Orchestra, and a special appearance by the Sesame Street Muppets!

    Fireworks Display
    9:07 p.m., National Mall & Neighboring Parks

Independence Day culminates with a spectacular fireworks display launched from West Potomac Park and behind the Lincoln Memorial which will be visible from many locations throughout D.C. and Northern Virginia. The fireworks will be cancelled in case of heavy rain, thunderstorms or high winds.
So, anyone wanting to see the fireworks and 45SHOLE needs to pack a meal or two and show up by 6:00 p.m., maybe as early as 3:30 p.m - poor planning.

Went to tvguide.com - only CSPAN is covering 45SHOLE's speech. Faux Noise:
    Special Report with Bret Baier
The latest news from inside the Beltway.
    6:00 - 8:00 PM

No way in hell I'd go to this thing. Aside from an irrational fear that one of the military jets will collide (collude?) with another one and they will both crash in the immediate vicinity, the pilots parachuting on top of and covering up trump, that's not what would keep me away. The fact that when trump is talking, everyone will laugh at the end of each statement. While that's going on, Jeff Sessions will be crawling underneath the grandstand with twelve sticks of dynamite in an old wooden box; he plans on some retribution but has a sudden onset of Christian empathy and slinks away without lighting the fuse. Meanwhile, William Barr and Sarah Sanders are making The Beast With Two Backs just under the front edge of the previously mentioned pilot's parachute. Not to miss out on the fun, Laura Ingraham is giving Sean Hannity a blow job off to the side and the whole time she's doing it he's telling her how she's doing it wrong. Don Jr and Eric throw caution to the wind and stick firecrackers up each others ass and giggle like fucking ten year olds. Yeah, I think I'll take a pass on this event.

AP FACT CHECK: Trump often is wrong about military matters

... He's claimed, for example, that he came up with the "genius idea" of giving veterans private health care so they don't have to wait for Veterans Affairs appointments, only to find out that others had thought of it but failed to get it done.

President Barack Obama signed the law getting it done in 2014.

Trump also made the flatly false statement that he won troops their first raise in a decade, suggested he's made progress reducing veteran suicides that is not backed up by the numbers, and contradicted the record in claiming that North Korea is cooperating on the return of the remains of U.S. troops....

U.S. military members have received a pay raise every year for decades.

Trump also boasts about the size of the military pay raises under his administration, but there's nothing extraordinary about them.

Several raises in the last decade have been larger than service members are getting under Trump — 2.6% this year, 2.4% last year, 2.1% in 2017.

Raises in 2008, 2009 and 2010, for example, were all 3.4% or more....

Trump incorrectly suggests that he helped reduce veterans' suicide, noting that his administration was working "very, very hard" on the problem and that in fact the figure had come down. But no decline has been registered during his administration....

Still, a report by the Government Accountability Office in December found the VA had left millions of dollars unspent that were available for suicide prevention efforts. The report said VA had spent just $57,000 out of $6.2 million available for paid media, such as social-media postings, due in part to leadership turmoil at the agency....

No remains of U.S. service members have been returned (by North Korea) since last summer and the U.S. suspended efforts in May to get negotiations on the remains back on track in time to have more repatriated this year. It hopes more remains may be brought home next year....

Trump did not invent the idea of giving veterans the option to see private doctor outside the Department of Veterans Affairs medical system at government expense. Nor is he the first president in 40 years to pass the program.

Congress approved the private-sector Veterans Choice health program in 2014 and Obama signed it into law. Trump expanded it....

Indeed, the VA says it does not expect a major increase in veterans seeking care outside the VA under Trump's expanded program, partly because waiting times in the private sector are typically longer than at VA.

"The care in the private sector, nine times out of 10, is probably not as good as care in VA," VA Secretary Robert Wilkie told Congress in March.
Why would anyone be stupid and unpatriotic enough to support this lifelong cowardly Chickenhawk in Chief that hates our soldiers so much that he routinely exploits them with sleazy lies?

Trump Dive-Bombed In Tweets After Claiming Army Seized Revolutionary War Airports

Critics of President Donald Trump were flying high Thursday after his jaw-dropping gaffe in his Independence Day speech that the brave U.S. Army (Continental Army, there was no U.S.) took over airports during the Revolutionary War.

Trump, clearly reading from a teleprompter, talked about how the Continental Congress in 1775 “created a unified Army out of the Revolutionary Forces encamped around Boston and New York.” The army suffered a “bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of (at) Yorktown,” Trump said....

Here’s where it goes off the rails: “Our Army manned the air, it rammed (or ‘rand’) the ramparts, it took over airports, it did everything it had to do (???),” Trump added. “And at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, had nothing but victory. When dawn came, the star-spangled banner waved defiant (wrong war).”

... (he called it “McHendry”) ...

Trump blames rain and teleprompter for his July 4 speech gaffe

      What a coward, as usual!

You don’t need a teleprompter to know that:

It was the Continental Army, not the “U.S. Army”. There was no U.S., yet.
Cornwallis was beaten AT Yorktown. The is no “Cornwallis of Yorktown”.
“Our Army manned the air, it rammed (or ‘rand’) the ramparts, it took over airports, it did everything it had to do,” is pure gibberish, and there was no air war.
The battle at Fort McHenry, NOT “Fort McHendry,” was the War of 1812, NOT the Revolutionary War.

Every middle school child and many in elementary school knows these things. Grow a pair. Anyhow, it's hilarious that this is the day after topic of conversation. Most incompetent POTUS ever.
