I never smoked any pork. Seems it would be hard to get it dry enough to light properly.

Maybe, depends on their response to your complaint

It might be that O Really is messing with us. This restaurant in Riverside, California dumped its squaw bread, which was invented by Germans (of course), in 2015 after piles of complaints. Its menu shows "Prairie Bread", instead.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 2:27 pmYeah, my bad.

Ah, thanks. Riverside isn't where I thought it was. I would guess that it's received the same years of complaints that the Backstreet Restaurant once got, and have decided to tell the anti-bigots to fuck off. Maybe they should change their name to California DeWhite.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 2:50 pmYeah, but this is the restaurant he was referring to.Vrede too wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 2:40 pmIt might be that O Really is messing with us. The restaurant in the article is different from where we go, which is indeed the Board and Brew in Carlsbad. "Squaw bread" isn't a propriatary name.
Anyway, the sandwich was excellent, the bread was fresh and delicious, and they can call it anything they want as long as they keep serving it. Except Trump Bread.

Once in a while I'll go to the Costco Business Center in a neighboring town, and pick up some of their deli-style sammies. Like Philly Cheese Steak. Not bad.

Any of the WNC people ever try the Hero at the Flat Rock Village Bakery.
So good.
Italian Hero
loaded with ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, mayo, roasted red peppers, organic greens, red onion, mustard, mayo and oil and vinegar on ciabatta.

If they changed the name, it might not get better. For example:
An application was made to the Nova Scotia Geographic Information Service in late 2016 to rename Squaw Island, Cape Negro, Cape Negro Island and Negro Harbour in Shelburne County
One wouldn't think that it would be hard to find a better name than "Squaw's Tit" near Canmore, Alberta but they came up with Anû Kathâ Îpa.
A California historical landmark previously named Squaw Rock was changed to Frog Woman Rock.
Squaw Peak in Phoenix was renamed Piestewa Peak
I like the "prairie bread", though. Or Cucomonga sweet wheat. That fits the taste.
