I like Sanders, but it would be a bit scary for him to get the nomination. Here's why: Despite having been a Senator for a long time, he doesn't have much of a record of what he's done. That makes it easier for the other side to bash him with negatives. So far, Republicans have gone light on him because they'd rather run against him. For starters, they'd beat him over the head with "socialist" - not that it's a secret, but right-wing propagandists have a way of making "soccer mom" a perversion. I just think that while his ideas are (generally) good and his head/heart is in the right place, he has too few positives to flout and too much potential for negatives.
Hillary, on the other hand, has her share of warts and baggage, but it's all been out there for years. And she's got a lot of stuff she's done. She won't be rattled by Trump's style of abuse.

Los Angeles-based artist Illma Gore’s painting of a naked — and, um, somewhat lacking — Donald Trump went on display in the Maddox Gallery in London’s posh Mayfair neighborhood last week, and it’s attracting bids in excess of $141,000, according to the Guardian.
It’s also attracting a potential lawsuit from someone claiming to be part of Trump’s legal team, though Gore shrugs off the threat and vows to stand by her work.
On what grounds?
The painting, dubbed “Make America Great Again,” went viral earlier this year when Gore posted it on her Facebook page, and it likely helped to make Trump’s anatomy a hot topic on the debate stage. Since then, she says she’s received thousands of death and rape threats.

The attention has also led to hundreds lining up at the gallery to see the painting.
“The reaction, especially in the UK, has been incredibly supportive. Everywhere apart from America has been great,” Gore told the Guardian. “Who knew it would be such a big deal? I think an artist’s job is to take the times we’re living in and then set the scene. It is a representation of where we are.”

Trump, though, is not Ahnald, nor Ronnie, nor Jesse. Everybody else was reasonably popular - or at least not despised by a large proportion of the voters - and used that popularity and name recognition to advantage. Nobody expected Ventura to win in Minnesota, but there was no incumbent and the two major party candidates weren't earth-shakers. Good timing, good luck, not likely to happen again.
Trump, on the other hand, as part of his effort to assure the votes of his beloved "poorly educated" has pretty much written off the female half of the population, along with all the blacks and hispanics. He's not getting any of those back by bashing the personal life/characteristics of "Crooked Hillary." Even if in a national poll he were even or slightly ahead of Hillary, the electoral votes aren't counted nationally.
He's going down. Big. And hopefully along with a bunch of other Republican trash.

Hillary couldn't afford to really piss off progressives and Bernie's too good a guy to get nasty with, anyhow.
How should she and will she play the game with Trump, Kasich style high road or Jeb/Cruz style low road? We know that she can do either.
Personally, I'd like to see him humiliated, not just by the vote but also by the campaign. But, I don't know if it's the winning strategy to go that route.

I think she gave a preview tonight - on personal attacks, more like "he's not the only one to try to take me out, and not even the best. Pretty much what you'd expect from a bully." Don't get into an argument over Bill or Monica. Keep focused on things people care about, including the things Bernie supporters care about. And yes, The Donald is such a contradiction himself that it's totally possible to highlight things that will piss off right-wingers and independents too.
She's gotta seem mostly adult and nice until after the convention. Then? Plus, she doesn't have to get her hands too dirty, there are so-called "independent" PACs for that.

Well, PACs are "independent" only from direct collaboration - it's not even a pretense that PACs support specific people. So she'll have those, plus a bunch of surrogates including, apparently, Elizabeth Warren and , probably, Bernie. She'll also have hours of video of what Trump's fellow Republicans have said about him, as well as what he has said himself. I really don't think the middle-school level trashing that Trump ran on "Little Marco" et. al. is going to fly against Hillary. Trump needs to pick up new supporters among women, blacks, Hispanics, and anybody who's not an old white male or white supremacist. Trash-talking HIllary isn't going to do that.
